Creativity
SCB does the majority of the design work for your custom cornhole boards in-house. This allows us to have greater control over the creative process and ensures the final product meets your design specifications and needs. We look forward to creating your custom cornhole board.

Quality
Baltic Birch is the overwhelmingly popular choice for cornhole board material due to its durability and strength. The 3/4” thickness that we use is the professional standard for tournament boards in the American Cornhole League (ACL), which is often featured on ESPN.
By using 3/4” Baltic Birch for your cornhole boards, we ensure they are sturdy and able to withstand the wear and tear of regular use. This high-quality material meets the official size and weight requirements for tournament play.
Whether you're playing for fun or competing, from professional to amateur level, Baltic Birch is a reliable and durable material that is sure to deliver consistent performance.

Stability
SCB cornhole boards have double cross braces, which help provide added support and stability to the board. These braces also help to reduce the amount of bounce that occurs when bags are tossed onto the board, which can make the game more challenging and exciting.
In addition to the double cross braces, our cornhole boards also feature a leg brace that provides additional stability and support. This brace helps to prevent the board from wobbling or tipping over during gameplay, which can be especially important if the board is being used outdoors or on uneven terrain. It also helps improve the longevity of the cornhole board so you can use it for many years. This is one of the ways our cornhole boards meet professional cornhole competition standards.
SCB leg braces and double cross braces are important features for your cornhole board that helps to make the game more enjoyable and competitive for players of all skill levels.

What makes a good cornhole board?
There are several factors that go into making a reliable, high-quality cornhole board that is fair at competition levels. First of all is the quality of the materials. We use 3/4” Baltic Birch, which is both a strong wood and durable enough to last many years. It is a type of wood that is relatively resilient to the elements, meaning it’s less likely than other wood types to suffer damage if left out in bad weather.
The next factor is its stability. You don’t want the board to shift, bounce, or change angles mid-match because that would be unfair to players and be obnoxious to fix every time it moves. Baltic Birch is one type of wood that is resistant to warping and cracks, meaning it can survive a lot of wear and tear before it starts shifting or bouncing.
Lastly is the angle and size of the board. The chart below shows a cornhole board speed chart in which the desired slide speed for the majority of people is 18”-24.” This means the boards start 12” off the ground on the raised end. To test this, place a bag at the top of the board while laying flat. Then slowly raise the board until the bag slides. The height at which the bag slides in inches is then compared to the chart. SCB routinely does this test on all sets sold, and are within the 18”-24” range. Majority of boards are in the 20”-22” range.
How to play an official cornhole game?
Have you never played by official rules? Have you heard of cornhole or saw a cousin playing, but never played it yourself? Give it a try! It’s a simple, fun game that anyone can play with a board and some beanbags.
The goal is to score points by getting the bags into the hole or landing them on the board. Here’s how to score a cornhole competition:
- Each team or player gets four bean bags of a single color.
- The game is played to 21 points. The first team to reach or exceed 21 points wins.
- Points are scored as follows:
- 1 point is awarded for each bag that lands on the board.
- 3 points are awarded for each bag that goes through the hole.
- Points are tallied at the end of each round.
- The team or player with the most points at the end of the round gets to throw first in the next round.
- If a team or player reaches 21 points exactly, the game is over and that team or player wins.
- If both teams or players have the same score at the end of a round, the game continues until one team or player has more points than the other.
